The Observatory is currently closed for an undetermined period of time due to the sudden death of our director and founder, Professor Nicolas Aster. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by this closure. We will provide more information as soon as possible.

In memory of our founder Nicolas Aster
Mr. Nicolas Aster died accidentally at his home at the age of 66. He spent his life in Gaspésie. He is survived by his son Nathaniel, his sister Pierrette (Sylvain Dumas), his niece Marie-Lune, several cousins, relatives and friends.
Professor Aster is also survived by his colleagues and employees of the 88 Constellations Observatory, of which he was the principal founder.
No date is currently scheduled for a funeral service. The immediate family would like to sincerely thank all those who took the time to express kind words and wishes. A donation to the 88 Constellations Observatory Foundation or to the SSI (Society of Independent Scientists) would be greatly appreciated.
